Remembrance Sunday

News

On Remembrance Sunday, Strathblane Heritage co-chair Anne Balfour gave a talk at the service held at the parish church about seven local men who lost their lives in World War Two and whose stories are currently being researched by a group of our members.

One particular discovery during this project has been the existence of a pipe tune written in honour of one of these men, Colonel Dick Pedder. This tune, sourced by Al Fleming, was played by a member of Strathendrick Pipe Band during the wreath laying at the War Memorial.
