First Edition of Guthrie Smith’s Book Donated to Strathblane Heritage

News

We are delighted to announce that a rare first edition copy of The History of the Parish of Strathblane by John Guthrie Smith has been donated to Strathblane Heritage. Though published in 1886, it remains the go-to source for local historians. The initial print run was very small and most of these leather-bound volumes are in the hands of private collectors. In recent years they have become increasingly difficult to find. Many thanks to Margaret Hanna for this generous donation. The book was originally the property of the Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow.
