An item not to be sneezed at?

In 1812, a ram’s head snuff mull, similar to the one pictured, was donated by Archibald Edmonstone of Spittal to a charity to help deserving people who had fallen on hard times. It bore the inscription: “Presented to the Stirlingshire Charitable Society by Archibald Edmonstone of Spittal, one of its members – 13 January 1812″
