My great uncle was Andrew Scott, a joiner with a workshop in Strathblane. He was born 1881 and married Anne Death in Strathblane Church on Dec 25th 1912. I am wondering if any relatives are still live in Strathblane. I found an article from the Strathblane newsletter 2011 entitled Village memories: Betty Scott written by one of Andrew Scotts’ grandsons Tom Murphy born about 1951.

We know from the monumental inscriptions that Andrew Scott died in 1944 and is buried along with his wife in Strathblane Kirkyard. Their 5 children are named : Alex, Betty, Jean, Jack and Ryner.
Donald Macintyre’s father took over Andrew A. Scott’s joiners business in 1950 and the Macintyres moved to Robinson Cottage on Milngavie Road. Donald has sent us his memories of the family but has lost contact with them. The Tom Murphy who wrote an article in The Blane was Betty’s son.
