Toys Galore

News

At the end of March a group of Strathblane Heritage members set up a mini pop-up museum in the Thomas Graham Community Library. They were there to show off the toys they played with as children to the pupils of P4 from Strathblane Primary School.

After an introduction from librarian Lynne James, each of the contributors talked about a favourite toy. Then groups of pupils moved round each table to examine the toys and books more closely and handle those which weren’t too fragile.

What fun we all had!

Thanks are due to Margaret Vass who brought her father’s amazing tricycle and to Steve Parfitt whose begging, barking dog was a hit with the children.

Thanks of course to Lynne who was the inspiration behind the event.

We were very pleased to be able to support the children’s learning in this way and we look forward to further collaboration with the school in the future.
