Reminiscences

The Ladies Scottish Climbing Club was founded in 1908, by these three women, at a boulder near the Lix Toll in Perthshire. https://www.ladiesscottishclimbingclub.org/history/

At our vintage film night in January 2023 we showed a film made in 1958 to commemorate the 50th Jubilee of the Ladies Scottish Climbing Club. The film shows a reconstruction of women climbers from 1908 dressed in Edwardian climbing gear climbing Jenny’s Lum in the Campsies It can be viewed at the National Library of Scotland Moving Image Archive by visiting the Kelvin Hall. https://movingimage.nls.uk/film/2150?search_term=campsies&search_join_type=AND&search_fuzzy=yes

We were pleased to welcome some current members of the climbing club on the evening.

Auld Wives Lifts
